I'd be very grateful if anyone can provide a solution to this problem. I have tried 'Paste Special' from the Edit menu (unformatted text, etc.) to remove this extra spacing but, that works only sometimes. Spacing shows at 1.0 and I don't have to remove space after paragraph to clean it up. I can copy the text from the textbox and paste it into word and it will appear on a single page.

I searched OpenOffice Writer Forum, but was unable to find any relevant information. When I copy and paste text from web pages into Word 2000, much of the time, the lines within the paragraph have spacing between them that ranges from an extra half line to an extra full line. The lines are single spaced and the page looks right.

If I highlight and select these lines and then click on Flush Left, all of the text in the document becomes flush left, and this I don't want. I would like to know how I can make these lines appear flush left so as to look correctly formatted without the huge spaces between the words.

Word will then open and display a message that it will convert your PDF to a Word document. When viewing the PDF in File Explorer, right-click the file and select Open With > Word 2016. I found a workaround which helped in her particular case. The OpenOffice Writer program has done its job to justify these final lines so the word beginning each of them is appropriately flush left and the ending word is flush right. When pasted, the text would have no spaces between words. These spaces between the separate words of these final lines are huge. Everything looks fine except the final lines of each paragraph. Then I used Select All to highlight the entire text in the New Text Document and chose the Justified option to justify all the text. I then pasted the file into a New Text Document in OpenOffice Writer. I used Select All/Copy to copy a file consisting of several paragraphs from the Notepad program on my computer.
